Course Description:

Nursing Assistant (Certificate Course). This 12 month full time regular course is designed to prepare students who are Certified Nursing Assistants for employment in a hospital/nursing home/ care home facility and become competent members of a team within a hospital or a health care setting. The curriculum focuses on nursing assistant knowledge, skills and attitude, required for holistic care of the patients/clients with medical, surgical, orthopedic, dermatological, geriatric and gynecological problems. The candidate will be able to assist the nurse in providing nursing care and service to the patients.

Eligbility :

  • Healthy 18-25 Years - Male / Female
  • Good communications skills in English and Hindi

Academic Term :

  • October 2016 - September 2017

Course Objectives: On completion of the course the student will be able to:-

  • Report and record observations
  • Provide assistance in maintaining personal hygiene
  • Perform transfer/shifting and ambulation
  • Assist with nutrition and elimination
  • Assist in the emergency room
  • Assist the nurse in providing general patient care and performing procedures
  • Communicate effectively and positively
  • Educate patients regarding their health prblems
  • Provide psychological support and compassionate care to patient and family
  • Function effectively as part of a team
